Inspired by Royce Dam’s Arctic Shrew. This fly is tied with flared clumps of caribou on three articulated shanks. This fly demonstrates what I call “Raw Hair Work.” Raw hair work involves minimal post-processing. The finished look is achieved in large part as the fly is tied, without requiring trimming or sculpting after-the-fact.
